職責
農業主任主要被調派擔任下列的工作(a) 園藝學的研究或諮詢工作(例如溫室生產科技、有機耕種、農場生產及作物營養)；或植物保護或禽畜護理的研究或諮詢工作；(b) 執行有關的農業規例及檢疫工作；(c) 進行農業經濟、發展及推廣的研究或工作；以及(d) 進行副食品批發市場的規劃及管理的工作。

An Agricultural Officer is mainly deployed on (a) undertaking research or advisory work in horticulture such as greenhouse production technology, organic cultivation, farm production and crop nutrition; or in plant protection or livestock husbandry; (b) implementing relevant agricultural regulations and quarantine work; (c) conducting studies or research work in agricultural economics, development and extension; and (d) wholesale food market planning and management.

申請人必須
(a) 持有本港大學的應用或自然科學、或農業經濟學或經濟學的適當學科的一級或二級榮譽學位，或具同等學歷(註一)；
(b) 在取得學位後在適當範疇上具三年有關工作經驗或持有本港大學應用或自然科學適當學科的較高學位或研究生文憑，或具同等學歷(註二)；以及
(c) 在綜合招聘考試(註三)兩張語文試卷(包括中文運用(註四)及英文運用(註四及註五))中取得「一級」成績。此外，亦須在綜合招聘考試能力傾向測試試卷取得及格成績。

Candidates should have
(a) a Hong Kong first or second class honours degree in an appropriate subject in Applied or Natural Science, Agricultural Economics, Economics, or equivalent (Note 1) ;
(b) three years’ post-graduate experience in an appropriate field or a Hong Kong higher degree or post-graduate diploma (Note 2) in an appropriate subject in Applied or Natural Science, or equivalent; and
(c) ‘Level 1’ results (Note 3) in the two language papers (Use of Chinese (Note 4) and Use of English (Note 4 & Note 5)) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE). A pass result in the Aptitude Test in the CRE is also required.

(4) 政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第5級或以上成績；或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科C級或以上的成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第4級成績；或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科D級的成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的一級成績。香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第5級或以上成績；或香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上成績；或General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) English Language科C級或以上成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第4級成績；或香港高級程度會考英語運用科D級成績；或GCE A Level English Language科D級成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的一級成績。
(5) 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位申請期內其中任何一日有效。
(6) 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會佔其整體表現的一個適當比重。
