職責
專利審查主任主要被編配於執行《專利條例》（第514章）中的有關職責，該職責是就原授專利申請及短期專利(主要屬於電子領域)作分類及審查，以及處理其他審查工作，及協助高級專利審查主任執行處理原授專利和短期專利的申請／批予的相關法定職責。
A Patent Examiner is mainly deployed on performing the duties under the Patents Ordinance (Cap. 514) in relation to classification and examination of original grant patent applications and short-term patents (mainly in the field of Electricity) as well as other examination tasks, and assisting the Senior Patent Examiner to carry out the necessary statutory duties relating to applications for/grant of original grant patents and short-term patents.
入職條件
申請人必須：
(a) 持有香港本地大學頒授的二級榮譽或以上學士學位，有關學位須修讀一項或多於一項屬電子*領域的科目，或具備同等學歷；以及
(b)(i) 具備最少兩年在香港以外的知識產權局／專利當局所獲取實質審查專利申請的經驗；或
(ii) 具備最少兩年以英文或中文從事處理專利申請中關於實質審查的工作(包括但不限於草擬專利說明書及權利要求)的經驗，或以英文或中文就可享專利性、專利申請、及其他關於專利批予前或批予後的事宜(例如專利有效性)提供意見的經驗。
*視乎部門運作而定，專利審查主任的主要職務是負責處理屬電子領域的原授專利申請及關於原授專利及短期專利批予後的申請。這領域基本上包括但不限於下列技術性科目：
應用物理學、計算機工程、計算機科學、電機工程、電力學、電子工程、信息工程、資訊科技、互聯網及多媒體技術、物理學、電信學

Candidates should have -
(a) a bachelor's degree with second class honours or above in one or more subject(s) in the fields of Electricity* from a local university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; and
(b)(i) at least two years of experience in substantive examination of patent applications in an intellectual property (IP)/patent office outside Hong Kong; or
(ii) at least two years of experience in prosecuting tasks relating to substantive examination of patent applications in English or Chinese, including but not limited to drafting patent specification and claims, providing advice on issues on patentability, prosecution of patent applications and other pre-grant or post-grant patent related issues, such as patent validity.
*Subject to operational need, Patent Examiner is primarily tasked with duties relating to processing applications for original grant patent applications and also post-grant applications concerning original grant patent and short-term patents in the field of Electricity, which is broadly classified to include, but not limited to, the following technical subjects:
Applied Physics; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical Engineering; Electricity; Electronic Engineering; Information Engineering; Information Technology; Internet & Multimedia Technologies; Physics; Telecommunication
(a) a bachelor's degree with second class honours or above in one or more subject(s) in the fields of Electricity* from a local university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; and
