A Printing Technician II in the Finishing stream is mainly deployed on supervising subordinates and operating the machines in the print finishing process; maintaining and adjusting the machines for proper operation; performing hand-binding work; and when necessary, moving and loading of printed matters. A Printing Technician II is required to wear uniform, work shifts and, when necessary, perform overtime work; and is subject to posting to different bureaux and departments.

Candidates should have:

• (a)met one of the following:
  • (i)completion of an approved and relevant printing apprenticeship; or
  • (ii)completion of Secondary 3, or equivalent, plus three years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry or in the printing workshop providing support to the printing technicians in the production process; or
  • (iii)completion of Primary 6, or equivalent, plus six years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry or in the printing workshop providing support to the printing technicians in the production process; or
  • (iv)a Diploma in Vocational Studies in Advertising, Packaging and Printing or a Technician Foundation Certificate in Printing Digital Workflow Production from the Vocational Training Council, or equivalent; plus two years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry or in the printing workshop providing support to the printing technicians in the production process;
• (b)attained a level of proficiency in Chinese Language and English Language equivalent to Primary 6 standard; and
• (c)a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST).
