牙科衞生員的主要職責為在衞生署轄下的牙科診所或其他機構在牙科醫生督導下執行下列職務－
- (a)清潔和擦亮牙齒、洗牙；
- (b)對牙齒使用牙面氟化物劑、窩溝封閉劑或其他類似的預防藥劑；
- (c)拍攝口腔內或口腔外的X光片，以檢查口部、牙齒、顎部和相聯組織；以及
- (d)就與牙齒衞生有關的事項提出意見。
職責
A Dental Hygienist is mainly deployed on the following duties under the supervision of a Dental Officer at dental clinics or other institutions under the Department of Health –
- (a)cleaning, polishing and scaling of teeth;
- (b)applying topical fluoride, fissure sealant, or other similar preventive agent to teeth;
- (c)taking X-ray films intra-orally or extra-orally for the examinations of the mouth, teeth, jaws and associated structures; and
- (d)giving advice on matters relating to dental hygiene.
入職條件
申請人必須－
- (a)已向香港牙醫管理委員會註冊為牙科衞生員[請參閱註(2)]；
- (b)持有香港牙醫管理委員會簽發的牙科衞生員有效執業證明書[請參閱註(2)]；
- (c)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級[請參閱註(3)]或以上成績；或具同等成績；並能操流利英語和粵語；以及
- (d)在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績[請參閱註(4)]。
Candidates should –
- (a)have been registered with the Dental Council of Hong Kong as a dental hygienist [See Note (2)];
- (b)have a valid practising certificate for dental hygienist issued by the Dental Council of Hong Kong [See Note (2)];
- (c)have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note (3)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and be able to speak fluent English and Cantonese; and
- (d)a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) [See Note (4)].
入職條件(註)
- (1)視乎當時的情況，如申請人具備牙科衞生員的執業經驗，或會獲考慮給予增薪點。在一般情況下，按公務員條款聘請的現職牙科衞生員的申請不會被考慮。
- (2)預期在遞交申請表後六個月內，能符合有關入職條件的人士亦可提出申請。
- (3)政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) 「C」級及「E」級的成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級的成績。
- (4)政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。 如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。
- (5)牙科衞生員在工作時須穿著制服並可能須在正常辦公時間以外工作。
