A Works Supervisor II (Building) is mainly deployed on : (a) assisting in the preparation of cost estimates of building and maintenance works; (b) assisting in the inspection of building sites, government buildings and facilities and slopes; keeping track of contract works and maintaining site records; (c) assisting in quality control of projects and monitoring progress of building and maintenance works in less complex projects such as public toilets and open spaces; and (d) checking works for compliance with contractual requirements and procedures including site safety, environmental protection, etc in less complex projects such as public toilets and open spaces. Candidates should have : (a) (i) obtained a Certificate in a Building Studies subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; or (ii) completed a recognised Technician Apprenticeship in building work; or (iii) at least five years' experience as a skilled worker in building work; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (1)].
