Successful candidates will be deployed to the Tree Management Office in the Works Branch of the Development Bureau to undertake the following duties Note (4):

• (a)to conduct roadside tree survey and record tree conditions;
• (b)to perform data entry and record locations in digital format;
• (c)to perform filing and labeling of photos; and
• (d)to submit organised data to supervisor(s).

This position is open to both male and female. Applicants should -

• (a)have a bachelor’s degree or higher in arboriculture or a related field such as botany, biology, forestry, horticulture, landscape studies, landscape architecture, landscape management, landscape science, from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
• (b)have a qualification/certification offered by a professional institution or industry organisation on arboriculture after successful completion of examination or assessment process conducted within or accredited by the institution/organisation, such as Certified Arborist of the International Society of Arboriculture, Professional Member or Fellow of the Arboricultural Association of the United Kingdom, European Tree Technician of the European Arboricultural Council, Registered Qualified Arborist / Registered Practicing Arborist / Registered Consulting Arborist / Registered Consulting and Practicing Arborist of the Arboriculture Australia Note
• (2), or equivalent;
• (c)have a minimum of one and a half years of proven full-time practical experience in arboriculture, such as experience in tree risk assessment and management, pruning, plant nutrition and fertilisation, planting and care after planting, diagnosis and treatment of tree problems, cabling and bracing, or other services that relate to arboriculture, with emphasis on preparing or vetting tree risk assessment reports, supervising arboricultural work;
• (d)have a good command of both English and Chinese and met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent, and can communicate in Chinese effectively, preferably with a Level 2 or above in Chinese Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent Note (3); and
• (e)be able to work independently and proficiently with minimal supervision and monitoring.
