• (1)To assist Engineer and Principal Technical Officer to check design reports and drawings of Fire Service Installations (FSI) and smoke control systems;
• (2)To coordinate all engineering matters associated with the provision of fire safety measures;
• (3)To solicit information and data in relation to the engineering aspects of the equipment and systems proposed for use in projects;
• (4)To assist in review of fire safety standards in relation to projects of different scales and complexities;
• (5)To attend meetings and give advice to other Government departments, architects, Electrical & Mechanical consultants, registered FSI contractors on fire service and smoke control engineering details;
• (6)To ensure that the detailed design and installation are in compliance with the design principles agreed between external parties and the Department;
• (7)To update and maintain submission / drawing records; and
• (8)To carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

The candidate should –

• (1)have a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute / technical college, or equivalent;
• (2)possess not less than 8 years of relevant experience in building construction projects;
• (3)have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (See Note); and
• (4)possess general office computer skills.
