職責
科學主任(醫務)(公共衞生)的主要職責包括─
(a) 建立、操作、維持及評估有關公共衞生題材的健康資訊及監測系統；
(b) 協調有關健康數據的搜集、編製、整合及分析工作；
(c) 籌劃、設計和推行公共衞生研究項目，包括進行有關準備工作，以及審視本地和海外有關公共衞生政策的法律架構；
(d) 為有關環境問題的健康風險評估、搜尋、匯集及研究科學證據提供專業意見；
(e) 就流行病學／公共衞生／環境健康研究／公共衞生教育項目／製作相關宣傳物品等有關事宜，提供專業統計及／或其他研究支援服務；
(f) 仔細評核研究建議；就檢視最新的科學實證、各項建議是否可行和適用，以及就擬定、推行、監察和評估公共衞生政策有關的建議，提供專業意見；
(g) 為公共衞生調查、控制及預防提供支援；
(h) 就各項申請作出審查，以及規劃和進行相關巡察；
(i) 就傳染病、非傳染病、環境健康、健康資料或研究及其相關事宜，協助處理有關的查詢和聯絡工作；以及
(j) 履行獲分配的其他職責。
(備註：可能須不定時工作及執行戶外工作。)

A Scientific Officer (Medical) (Public Health) is mainly deployed on –
(a) setting up, operating, maintaining and evaluating health information and surveillance systems on public health subjects;
(b) coordinating the collection, compilation, collation and analysis of health data;
(c) planning, designing and carrying out research projects related to public health subjects, including the preparation of research projects and evaluating the local and overseas legislative regimes relating to public health policies;
(d) providing professional input in health risk assessment on environmental hazards, searching, aggregating and distilling scientific evidence;
(e) providing professional statistical and/or other research support to epidemiology/ public health/ environmental health studies/ public health education projects and production of related promotional materials or related matters;
(f) appraising research proposals critically, providing professional inputs in reviewing the latest scientific evidence, the feasibility and applicability of various proposals, and the recommendations on planning, implementation, progress monitoring, and evaluation of public health policies;
(g) supporting public health investigation, control and prevention;
(h) vetting applications, planning and conducting inspections;
(i) assisting in handling enquiries and liaison work related to communicable and non-communicable diseases, environmental health, health information or research and related matters; and
(j) performing any other duties as assigned.
[Note: May be required to work irregular hours and perform outdoor duties.]

(a) (i) 持有香港任何一所大學頒授的公共衞生學或流行病學與生物統計學或環境衞生學或相關學科的碩士學位，或具同等學歷；或
(ii) 持有香港任何一所大學頒授的公共衞生學或流行病學與生物統計學或環境衞生學或相關學科的深造文憑，或具同等學歷，並在取得資歷後具備兩年相關的工作經驗(註(1))；及
(b) 符合語文能力要求，即在綜合招聘考試的兩張語文試卷(中文運用及英文運用)中取得「一級」成績，或具備同等成績(註(2))。
(備註：申請人可能會獲邀參加筆試。)

(a) (i) have a Master Degree in Public Health or Epidemiology and Biostatistics or Environmental Health or a related discipline from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or
(ii) have a postgraduate diploma in Public Health or Epidemiology and Biostatistics or Environmental Health or a related discipline from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, with 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience (Note (1)); and
(b) meet the language proficiency requirements of “Level 1” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent (Note (2)).

入職條件(註)
(1) 取得資歷後的相關的工作經驗指在取得資歷後，與公共衞生學或流行病學與生物統計學或環境衞生學或相關學科有關的全職工作經驗。申請人須遞交個人履歷，詳列相關工作經驗的職務。
(2) (a) 綜合招聘考試中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績分為「二級」、「一級」或「不及格」，並以「二級」為最高等級。
(b) 政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第5級或以上成績；或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科Ｃ級或以上的成績，會被接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第4級成績;或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科D級成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的一級成績。
(c) 香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第5級或以上成績；或香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上成績;或General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level)(GCE A Level) English Language 科C級或以上成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第4級成績；或香港高級程度會考英語運用科Ｄ級成績；或 GCE A Level English Language 科Ｄ級成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的一級成績。
(d) 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS)學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位申請期內其中任何一日有效。
(3) 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會佔其整體表現的一個適當比重。
