職責
An Engineering Laboratory Technician II is mainly deployed on
- (i)undertaking physical, chemical, radiological, bacteriological and biological sampling, examination and analysis; and
- (ii)assisting in the training of junior staff.
Note:
May be required to work in remote areas, work irregular hours or shifts including general and statutory holidays. Rest day may not be on Saturday and Sunday.

申請人必須(a)持有香港理工學院/理工大學、香港專業教育學院或科技學院/工業學院頒發的化學科技文憑或高級證書，或具備同等學歷；(b)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科達第2等級或以上成績，或具備同等學歷(註1)；以及(c)在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績(註2)。
(註1)：政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙)C級及E級的成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年及其後舉行的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3等級和第2等級的成績。
(註2)：政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。

Candidates should have
- (a)a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Chemical Technology from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or technical college/technical institute, or equivalent;
- (b)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note 1), and
- (c)a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) (Note 2).
(Note 1) : For civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(Note 2) : All applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. A pass result in the BLNST is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Only those candidates who have passed the BLNST will be considered for appointment. For candidates who have not taken the relevant BLNST or have not attained a pass result in the relevant BLNST at the time of application, they may still apply for the job and arrangements will be made for them to take the relevant BLNST during the recruitment process.

- (i)Candidates should state clearly in their applications of their academic qualifications and Chinese and English languages proficiency level attained.
