建築師的主要職責是(a)進行可行性研究和地盤規劃的工作，擬備工程設計圖、詳細設計圖、工作圖則、招標文件、工程預算及計劃綱要，並監督及管理房屋委員會轄下的建築合約及決算帳目；(b)管理工程顧問公司以及統籌公共房屋工程的規劃、設計、施工和完工後的有關工作；(c)執行屋宇管制職務和相關的緊急服務職責；以及(d)監督輔助技術人員和工地人員的工作。
職責
An Architect is mainly deployed on
- (a)preparing feasibility studies, site planning, scheme design, detailed designs, working drawings, tender documentation, project budgets and briefs, and supervising and administrating contracts for building projects and final accounts under the Housing Authority's purview;
- (b)managing consultants, co-ordinating works related to the planning, design and construction and post construction of public housing projects;
- (c)performing building control duties with associated emergency service duties; and
- (d)supervising the work of supporting technical and site staff.
入職條件
申請人必須(a)為香港建築師學會會員，或具備同等資格；(b)在綜合招聘考試能力傾向測試試卷取得及格成績；以及(c)符合語文能力程度，即綜合招聘考試兩張語文試卷(包括中文運用及英文運用)一級成績，或同等成績。[請參閱註(3)]。
Candidates should
- (a)be Members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), or equivalent;
- (b)have a pass result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE); and
- (c)have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 1 results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent. [See Note (3)].
入職條件(註)
- (1)申請人若具備香港註冊建築師的資格，可獲優先考慮。
- (2)視乎當時的情況，具有較多經驗的人士，可能因為具備在取得所須學歷後的相關建築工程工作經驗，而獲給予額外增薪點。
- (3)綜合招聘考試的中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績分為二級、一級或不及格，並以二級為最高等級。 香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上和D級成績(或同等成績)分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級和一級成績。香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科C級或以上和D級的成績則分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的二級和一級成績。 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的申請人，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位開始接受申請的首天(即2012年4月6日)仍然有效。
- (4)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。申請人在基本法測試(學位/專業程度職系)的表現，會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素，但不會影響其申請公務員職位的資格。原則上，申請人的學歷、經驗和才能仍然是考慮其是否適合被聘用的主要因素。
