負責進行土力研究、設計及審核；進行研究及拓展工程；管理顧問和合約；提供土力工程顧問服務、材料測試服務、斜坡維修服務及緊急服務；以及管制礦務及採石工作。獲取錄者可能會被派往其他政府部門轄下工程組別工作。獲取錄而擁有地質背景的申請人或須參與編製地質圖的工作。
職責
To undertake geotechnical studies, design and checking; carry out research and development projects; manage consultancies and contracts; provide advisory, material testing, slope maintenance and emergency services; and control mining and quarrying activities. Successful candidates may be posted to work in other Works Group of Departments. Successful candidates of geological background may be involved in the preparation of geological maps.
入職條件
- (a)香港工程師學會(土木組或岩土組)於一九七五年十二月五日後選取的會員，或同等資格[參閱註(1)]，並在土力工程方面有兩年工作經驗；或
- (b)持有香港其中一所大學頒發的土木工程、工程地質學或地質學學位，或同等學歷，並於取得學歷後在土力工程方面有四年工作經驗；及
- (c)香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科達第2級或以上，或具備同等學歷[參閱註(2)]。
- (a)Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Civil or Geotechnical Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent (see Note (1)), and 2 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering; or
- (b)have a Hong Kong university degree in civil engineering, engineering geology or geology, or equivalent, and 4 years’ post-qualification experience in geotechnical engineering; and
- (c)Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (see Note (2)).

- (1)申請人如只持有非本地專業資格，應提交所需證明文件，證明該等資格等同本地有關專業資格，例如提供證據，證明申請人的資格在截止申請日期之前，已獲香港工程師學會接納為其會員（土木組或岩土組）。
- (2)2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) E級的成績，在行政上會被視為等同2007年或以後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第2等級的成績。
