The Information Technology Officer (Development) will be responsible for: (1) developing, documenting, administering and maintaining application systems; (2) providing IT support and training to users; (3) updating, administering and maintaining web sites; and (4) assisting in other system development and IT related duties as required.

Candidates should have – (1) (a) a bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (1)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (c) at least 4 years’ post-qualification full time relevant IT working experience; and (d) at least 3 years’ full time hands-on experience in web application development using Java, JSP and Oracle PL/SQL; AND (2) (a) candidates who are holders of the following certificates will be highly advantageous: “Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Programmer”, “Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer” or “Sun Certified Java Programmer”; (b) candidates have hands-on experience or good knowledge of the following will be an advantage – (i) Web site editing and maintenance HTML, JavaScript, IIS, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and ActionScript (ii) Application development Oracle 10g/11g, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Apache, Tomcat, Ajax, XML, ASP/ASP.NET, VBScript, Delphi, Perl, PHP, LotusScript, XPages, Acrobat PDF Form, Unix (Solaris, Linux, HP-UX), UML, Android and iOS ; and (c) candidates should be customer oriented and able to perform under pressure, as well as willing to work after normal office hours and occasionally on an on-call basis as required.
