Major duties are: (a) to assist in management of domestic services and administrative duties including coordination and supervision of the work of junior domestic staff; (b) to arrange and manage event venues and catering services; (c) to provide personal and domestic services; (d) to receive guests and to answer telephone calls; and (e) to arrange maintenance, stock-taking, repairing and replacement of household items (including tableware and cutlery) and soft furnishing; and to keep record of household items. (Note 1: Domestic Staff III are required to (a) work overtime and irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; (b) live in quarters; (c) wear uniform; and (d) be deployed to work in Government House, Fanling Lodge and any other places as required. Note 2: For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be tested orally on their BL knowledge during the recruitment interview. Results of BL assessment will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects.)

Candidates should: (a) have at least 6 years’ experience in senior domestic or management work in a large household or hospitality/hotel establishment; and (b) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English; read and write simple Chinese and English; and ability to speak simple Putonghua is an advantage.
