An Assistant Superintendent of Aids to Navigation is mainly deployed on servicing, installing and repairing aids to navigation including lighthouse equipment and machinery, marine lights, light buoys, fog signals, compressors, etc.

Candidates should have : (a) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; (b) a completed and recognized apprenticeship or two years’ relevant practical training in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; (c) at least five years’ post-qualification experience in the manufacture and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment, including relays, motors and instruments; and (d) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (1)].
