丈量員主要在地政總署測繪處工作，其主要職責包括
- (a)協助測量主任及／或土地測量師職系人員進行實地測量工作；
- (b)利用小型測量設備／工具執行實地測量工作；
- (c)就實地測量工作負責預備、看管、保養、維修、運送及保護測量設備、工具和物料；
- (d)保持擺放測量器材的儲存間整齊清潔；以及
- (e)協助訓練二級工人。
註：
丈量員或須(i)不定時工作；(ii)在交通繁忙、崎嶇起伏的地區和惡劣的天氣情況下擔任戶外工作；以及(iii)或調任到地政總署地政處工作。
職責
A Chainman normally works in the Survey and Mapping Office of Lands Department and is mainly deployed on
- (a)assisting members of Survey Officer and/or Land Surveyor grades in carrying out surveying work in the field;
- (b)using of minor survey equipment/tools for execution of surveying tasks in the field;
- (c)undertaking the preparation, care, repair and maintenance, transportation and safeguard of survey equipment, tools and materials for field survey operations;
- (d)maintaining the order and cleanliness of survey stores; and
- (e)assisting in the training of Workmen II.
Note:
A Chainman may be required to (i) work irregular hours; (ii) work outdoors in heavy traffic, hilly or rugged areas and in inclement weather conditions; and (iii) may be posted to the Lands Administration Office of Lands Department.

- (a)在土地/工程測量方面具備不少於兩年的相關經驗；以及
- (b)具備相當於小六程度的中、英文語文能力。
The post is open to both male and female candidates. Candidates should
- (a)have not less than 2 years' relevant experience in land/engineering survey; and
- (b)have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard.
