(a) To assist in the professional matters of the Basic Competency Assessment (BCA) Projects; (b) To coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Student Assessment Repository (STAR) project including the item setting, platform enhancement and tryout scheme with various stakeholders; (c) To assist in the setting of assessment items on English Language and the related platform enhancement for the STAR project; (d) As the English subject team leader, to lead the development of support materials for the Web-based Learning and Teaching Support (WLTS) and the conduct of subject-specific research studies and professional development programmes on English Language; (e) To provide professional support in other subject specific analyses; (f) To assist in handling procurement and personnel matters; and (g) To perform any other duties as assigned.

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in English Language subject or a Bachelor of Education degree majoring in English Language, or equivalent; and a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [see Note (ii)]; (b) 'Level 2' results in two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [see Note (iii)]; (c) At least 10 years' relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and / or curriculum development in the subject of English Language [see Note (iv)]; (d) Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following: a higher degree related to curriculum studies, or equivalent; rich experience in management and organization of large-scale programmes; good communication, thinking and inter-personal skills as well as ability for teamwork with relevant experience; Information Technology literacy; and good knowledge about the development of education and assessment trend in Hong Kong and / or overseas; and (e) Candidates short-listed for interview are required to take a written test in English.
