職責
警員需要執行多方面之警務工作，並會被調往不同部門工作，如軍裝部、交通部、刑事部或水警，須遵守警隊條例有關紀律事宜的規定，並要穿著制服、輪班及／或不定時工作，亦可能要在香港特區境外範圍工作。
A Police Constable is mainly deployed on performing a wide variety of police duties and may be posted to one of the many police formations in uniform branch, traffic wing, crime wing or the marine region. He/she will be subject to discipline under the Police Force Ordinance and is required to work shifts and / or irregular hours and work in an area outside the HKSAR.
入職條件
(a) (i) 在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等 (註 2) 或以上成績 (註 3及4)，或具同等學歷；或
(ii) 在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級 (註 5)／E級或以上成績 (註 3及4)，或具同等學歷；
(b) (i) 香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考英國語文科考獲第2級 (註 5) 或以上成績 (註 4)，或具同等學歷 ；
(ii) 香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科考獲第2級 (註 5) 或以上成績，或具同等學歷。 申請人未能符合所需最低中文語文能力要求，仍可申請該職位。然而，申請人將獲安排參加公務員考試組舉辦的政府語文考試並需取得合格 (註 4) ﹔以及
(iii) 能閱讀及書寫中文及操流利粵語；
(c) 須符合下列體格標準︰
男性－身高至少163厘米，體重至少50公斤﹔女性－身高至少152厘米，體重至少42公斤，並須通過體能測驗；
(d) 戴眼鏡人士亦可申請，但必須在不配戴矯視工具下，通過視力測驗 ﹔
(e) 必須是香港特別行政區永久性居民﹔
(f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績 (註 6)﹔以及
(g) 須通過體格檢驗 (包括尿液驗毒)。
(ii) 在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級 (註 5)／E級或以上成績 (註 3及4)，或具同等學歷；
(b) (i) 香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考英國語文科考獲第2級 (註 5) 或以上成績 (註 4)，或具同等學歷 ；
(ii) 香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科考獲第2級 (註 5) 或以上成績，或具同等學歷。 申請人未能符合所需最低中文語文能力要求，仍可申請該職位。然而，申請人將獲安排參加公務員考試組舉辦的政府語文考試並需取得合格 (註 4) ﹔以及
(iii) 能閱讀及書寫中文及操流利粵語；
(c) 須符合下列體格標準︰
男性－身高至少163厘米，體重至少50公斤﹔女性－身高至少152厘米，體重至少42公斤，並須通過體能測驗；
(d) 戴眼鏡人士亦可申請，但必須在不配戴矯視工具下，通過視力測驗 ﹔

(f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績 (註 6)﹔以及

(ii) Level 2 (Note 5) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Notes 3&4), or equivalent;
(b) (i) Level 2 (Note 5) or above in English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE (Note 4), or equivalent;
(ii) Level 2 (Note 5) or above in Chinese Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent. Applicant without the minimum required Chinese language proficiency standard may also apply for the post. They will be referred to sit for and must pass the Government Standard Examination (Note 4); and
(iii) be able to read and write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese;
(c) minimum physical standards as follows:-
Male : height 163 cm,weight 50 kg; Female : height 152 cm, weight 42 kg; physical fitness test is a prerequisite;
(d) pass an initial eyesight test without the aid of any eyesight correction tools;
(e) must be permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
(f) have a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Note 6); and
(g) pass a medical examination (including a urine drug test).
(ii) Level 2 (Note 5) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Notes 3&4), or equivalent;
(b) (i) Level 2 (Note 5) or above in English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE (Note 4), or equivalent;

(1) 自2009 年4月1日起新聘的警員，在所屬職級服務滿12年、18 年、24 年、30年及36年而工作表現良好，可獲得5個長期服務增薪點，即39,475元 (警務人員薪級表第18點) 至44,380元 (警務人員薪級表第22點) 。
(2) 政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標並表現優異」及「達標並表現優異(I)」成績，以及其他語言科目C級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第3級成績；香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標」成績，以及其他語言科目E級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第2級成績。
(3) 有關科目可包括中國語文及英國語文科。
(4) 將於本學年內取得所需學歷資格的學生也可申請﹔申請人如獲錄用，必須在本學年內取得所需學歷資格才獲聘任。
(5) 政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
(6) 政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。
