A Licensing Inspector is mainly deployed on (a) preparing and conducting operations to enforce Miscellaneous Licences Ordinance (Cap.114), Gambling Ordinance (Cap.148), Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance (Cap.349), Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance (Cap.376), Amusement Game Centres Ordinance (Cap.435), Bedspace Apartments Ordinance (Cap.447) and Karaoke Establishments Ordinance (Cap.573), including policing suspected unlicensed premises, performing routine patrols, site inspections and surprise inspections, procuring site evidence and preparing reports, etc.; (b) assisting in conducting investigation into complaints relating to the enforcement of the seven Ordinances; (c) preparing and conducting prosecution cases including collecting evidence, taking witness statements and attending court hearings, etc.; (d) executing the warrants and orders issued by the Court; and (e) updating and maintaining records and statistics.

Candidates should have (a) Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; (c) at least 3 years’ working experience in a law enforcement agency/government department, experience in investigative and detective duties preferred.
