Assistant Inspectors (Graduate) are mainly deployed on the following types of duties :

• (a)conducting quality assurance inspection;
• (b)assisting in professional training and development of educational professionals;
• (c)assisting in curriculum development and review;
• (d)provision of school-based support and school development;
• (e)monitoring and provision of special education services; and
• (f)assisting in formulation and implementation of other education policies.

Appointees are subject to posting to meet operational needs. Apart from posts in the subject streams they apply for, they may also be deployed to fill posts that are not subject-specific or in other related disciplines.

Candidates should have –

• (a)
  • (i)a Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) / Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from a Hong Kong tertiary education institution, or equivalent; or
  • (ii)a teacher's certificate awarded by the former Colleges of Education or the former Hong Kong Institute of Education, or equivalent;
• (b)met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Note 1]; and
• (c)a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law test (BLNST) [See Note 2].
