職責
小輪助理員主要負責：
(a) 協助操作和駕駛船隻，尤其要在船上執行瞭望職務，以確保航行安全；
(b) 協助繫泊和靠泊船隻；
(c) 協助操作和維修船上所有機械和電氣設備；以及
(d) 保持船隻清潔。
[註： 須穿着制服以及輪班／不定時工作。]

A Launch Assistant is mainly deployed on:
(a) assisting in the handling and navigating of vessels, in particular to perform look-out duties on board vessels to ensure navigational safety;
(b) assisting in the mooring and berthing of vessels;
(c) assisting in the operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment of vessels; and
(d) maintaining cleanliness of vessels.
[Remarks : Required to wear uniform and work shifts/irregular hours.]

入職條件
申請人必須具備以下資歷：
(a) 小六畢業或同等學歷；
(b) 達到海事處處長所訂的視力標準，以在船上執行瞭望職務；
(c) 諳泳術並能在沒有輔助的情況下一次過游畢50米；
(d) 中、英文水平達小六程度；以及
(e) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績［請參閱註］。

(c) be able to swim continuously unaided for a distance of 50 meters at one time;
(d) have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard; and
(e) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test.

政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。
如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。
