主要負責執行下列綱領範圍的臨牀及非臨牀職責：
- (a)法定職責；
- (b)預防疾病；
- (c)促進健康；
- (d)醫療護理；及
- (e)康復服務。
（備註：獲取錄的申請人須於正常辦公時間以外執行輪班工作／隨時候召工作。他們或須在偏遠地點（例如：離島）工作，及居住在為職位需要而設的宿舍。）

Medical and Health Officer (Correctional Medical Services)
總薪級表第32點（每月港幣49,355元）至總薪級表第44B點（每月港幣85,945元），入職薪點視乎工作經驗而定﹝參閱註1﹞。
職責
Mainly deployed on clinical and non-clinical duties in the following programme areas:
- (a)statutory functions;
- (b)disease prevention;
- (c)health promotion;
- (d)curative care; and
- (e)rehabilitation.
(Remarks: Selected candidates are required to perform on-call/ shift duties outside normal working hours. They may be required to work at remote locations, such as outlying islands, and to reside in post-tied quarters.)
入職條件
申請人必須
- (a)持有根據香港法例第161章《醫生註冊條例》可在香港註冊的醫科資格；及
- (b)符合語文能力要求，即在綜合招聘考試的兩張語文試卷（中文運用及英文運用）中取得「一級」或以上成績，或具同等成績〔參閱註2及3〕；以及能操流利粵語及英語。
（備註：未取得所需的綜合招聘考試成績或同等成績，但符合其他入職條件者，亦可提交申請。不過，有關申請人須在二零一二年六月舉行的綜合招聘考試中取得所需成績，才會獲考慮受聘。申請人須在申請表格第2頁內「學歷」下第(I)欄「公開考試成績」一項內，註明在是次綜合招聘考試的
- (i)申請編號及
- (ii)報考的試卷。）
Candidates should have
- (a)a medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance, Cap. 161; and
- (b)met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 1” or above results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent (See Notes 2&3); and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.
(Remarks: Applicants without the requisite CRE results, or equivalent, but who have met the other entry requirements may also apply. However, they will only be considered for appointment subject to their obtaining the requisite results in the coming CRE to be held in June 2012. They should indicate in Section I (Public Examination Results) under "Academic Attainment" in Page 2 of their application forms
- (i)their serial number for and
- (ii)the papers to be attempted by them in the said CRE.)
入職條件(註)
- (1)視乎當時的情況，本署或會考慮按申請人的工作經驗給予增薪點。
- (2)(a) 綜合招聘考試中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績分為「二級」、「一級」或「不及格」，並以「二級」為最高等級。
- (b)香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科「C」級或以上和「D」級的成績分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。
- (c)香港高級程度會考英語運用科「C」級或以上和「D」級的成績（或同等成績）則分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。
- (d)在International English Language Testing System（IELTS）學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會視為已符合醫生的英語能力要求。IELTS考試成績必須在職位開始接受申請的首天（即2012年4月20日）仍然有效。
- (3)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。申請人在基本法測試(學位╱專業程度職系)的表現，會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素，但不會影響其申請公務員的資格。原則上，申請人的學歷、經驗和才能仍然是考慮其是否適合被聘用的主要因素。
