執行林木及植物管理工作；策劃、管理、發展及保護郊野公園、香港地質公園、香港濕地公園及特別地區；負責動植物、瀕危物種、地貌及景觀的存護工作，包括執法、教育、提供意見及生態學的基線研究；評估及監察環境影響評估工作的生態部分；以及就有關學科進行應用研究。
註：
可能須不定時工作、輪班和執行有關山火、颱風及其他自然災害的緊急任務。
職責
Perform forestry and vegetation management work; planning, managing, developing and protecting Country Parks, Hong Kong Geopark, Hong Kong Wetland Park and Special Areas; undertaking fauna, flora, endangered species, geological and landscape conservation work, including law enforcement, education, advisory duties, and ecological baseline studies; assessing and monitoring ecological aspect of environmental impact assessment process; and undertaking applied research in various discipline.
Note:
May be required to work irregular hour; perform shift duties and emergency duties related to hill fires, typhoon duties or other natural disasters.
入職條件
- (a)持有應用科學、自然科學、地理或地球科學等適當科目的本港一級或二級榮譽學位，或具同等學歷；
- (b)畢業後在適當範疇具有3年工作經驗或持有應用科學或自然科學等適當科目的本港碩士或博士學位或深造文憑，或具同等經驗或學歷；以及(c)香港中學會考中國語文科及英國語文科取得第3等級或以上的成績，或具同等學歷。
- (a)a Hong Kong First or Second Class honours degree in an appropriate subject in Applied or Natural Science, Geography, Earth Science, or equivalent;
- (b)three years' post-graduate experience in an appropriate field or a Hong Kong Higher Degree or post-graduate Diploma in an appropriate subject in Applied or Natural Science, or equivalent; and
- (c)Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent.

政府在聘任非公務員合約僱員時，過往香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級的成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3等級的成績。
