A Survey Officer Trainee (Quantity) is mainly deployed on undergoing a 3-year on-the-job training which would involve attending courses and on assisting in - (a) taking-off quantities; (b) the preparation of contract documents for tender action and arrangement for execution of contract; (c) measuring up completed works on site and/or from drawings; (d) the preparation of project estimates; and (e) processing data by applying quantity surveying computer software. Candidates should have – (a) (i) obtained a Certificate in Quantity Surveying or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) / technical institute / technical college, or equivalent; or (ii) Grade C or above in Mathematics and Level 2 / Grade E or above in four other subjects including Physics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.) ; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKCEE, or equivalent.
