A Contract Supervisor (Pre-press) is mainly deployed to: (a) examine and vet the specifications of printing assignments and to organise the workflow of pre-press production with a view to meeting delivery schedules; (b) provide technical support in day-to-day production and to conduct training to Pre-press staff to ensure they are capable to use the up-to-date software and equipment; and (c) assist the head of the Pre-press Unit with staff deployment, workflow management and quality control; and to carry out researches and provide technical advice on the development of new technology and techniques in the pre-press field.

Candidates should have – (1)(a) Level 2 or above in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; OR (b) Level 2 (Note 1) / Grade E or above in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; AND (2) a Certificate in Printing or in Digital Media from the Vocational Training Council (VTC), or equivalent; AND (3) a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the printing trade, including not less than 3 years’ experience in supervising pre-press work; AND (4) hands-on experience in using PC and Mac workstations, and CTP output devices; good knowledge in Agfa ApogeeX Workflow, well conversant on 1-Bit Tiff workflow, PDF file output and ePublishing, and familiar with computer application software including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, PageMaker, FreeHand and CorelDraw.
