Assistant Information Technology Managers (Infrastructure) will be mainly responsible for – (a) leading a team of IT staff to complete jobs of the infrastructure stream and any other IT-related duties; (b) serving as the technical lead on matters of infrastructure systems; (c) enforcing the compliance with the best practices and guidelines for infrastructure system maintenance and security; (d) performing and leading the performance of infrastructure project planning and management, specification development, product evaluation, procurement, contractor liaison, system implementation, system testing, system documentation, system administration and maintenance, system troubleshooting and tuning, quality assurance and other activities related to the projects; (e) managing the helpdesk operation, the IT inventory, and the maintenance, administration and disaster recovery of business application systems and infrastructure systems; (f) providing IT support, advisory and training to users; and (g) handling various administrative tasks.

(a) Candidates should have – (i) a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) or related discipline from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; (ii) met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ [Note (1)] or above results in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (iii) at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification full-time IT working experience, of which 2 years must be in a supervisory and quality control role; (iv) outsourcing and in-house project management and helpdesk experience in sizable organisations (e.g. with more than 300 staff members); (v) at least 3 years’ full-time hands-on experience in administration of IBM Notes Domino R7 or above and/or development of Notes applications; and (vi) at least 3 years’ full-time hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas – • administration of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 with clustering configuration, Microsoft Active Directory, VMware and Storage Area Network • management of sizeable computer networks (e.g. network planning, Cisco router and switch configuration, security management, resilience configuration) (b) Candidates should be customer-oriented, able to perform under pressure, willing to work after office hours and occasionally working on an on-call basis as required. (c) Candidates who are holders of the following certificates or equivalent will be advantageous – • Projects in Controlled Environments, version 2 (PRINCE2) Professional • Project Management Professional (PMP) • IBM Certified System Administrator – Notes and Domino • Microsoft Certified Professional/Solutions Associate of Windows Server • Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (d) Candidates who have experience in using the following technologies/products will be advantageous – Sophos SafeGuard LANCrypt, Symantec Backup Exec, CA ARCserve Backup, endpoint security software, anti-malware software, anti-spam appliance, IPv6, WiFi equipment, firewall, iPhone/iPad, mobile device management system, Windows 7/10, IP-PBX system, IVRS and phone recording system, SSL VPN, load balancer, network monitoring tools, content delivery network, Microsoft Windows Server Update Services, Linux.
