Reporting to the Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in San Francisco, the Head, Investment Promotion will be responsible for attracting companies to set up or expand in Hong Kong by engaging in investment promotion activities, visits to companies and providing practical assistance to potential investors in the western US region, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Travel within the region is required.

(a) A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics or similar subject. A higher degree would be an advantage; (b) Minimum ten years of international sales and/or business development experience, preferably in foreign direct investment promotion or economic development, at a managerial position; (c) Excellent presentation and communication skills in English; (d) Broad knowledge of the business environment of the western US and Hong Kong. Relevant working experience in the western US region is important. Experience of living and/or doing business in Hong Kong would be an asset; and (e) Eligible to take up employment in the US. * The selected candidate with more than ten years of relevant experience may be appointed at a higher salary.
