To lead and supervise a team of technical staff to provide support services for:

• (1)the ongoing administration and maintenance of backbone network in data centres, local area networks in offices and venues, interfaces with Government Network etc;
• (2)the provisioning of Internet services and remote access services etc;
• (3)the design and implementation of network platforms for deployment of new application systems and enhancement of existing application systems;
• (4)the preparation of funding applications for new projects; and
• (5)adhoc and standby support of network services beyond normal office hours.

Candidates should have –

• (a)a Hong Kong degree, or equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines, or equivalent;
• (b)Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [see Note (1)], or equivalent;
• (c)valid certificate
• (s)of PRINCE2 Practitioner, Project Management Professional or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) – Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management;
• (d)technical, network infrastructure and IT security related professional qualifications, such as Microsoft Certified Professional, CISCO Certified Network Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or equivalent;
• (e)at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in the IT industry, including at least 6 years in the capacity of manager for network-related projects, at least 5 years in management of enterprise network infrastructure with not less than one thousand nodes, and at least 5 years in procurement and contract management;
• (f)solid working experience in design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, Internet gateway, virtual private network, Wi-Fi, firewall and security risk assessment & audit (SRAA); and
• (g)strong problem analysis and solving skills, self-initiated, keep abreast of innovative networking technologies, real sense of commitment to work, and good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

• (1)For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth; ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
