助理工程監督的主要職責是：(a)協助工程監督控制項目質素，督導和培訓監工職系人員；(b)督導合約工程，包括進行工地測量和記錄測量結果，備存工地記錄，以及審核承建商的申索；(c)監察建築及保養工程計劃，包括工地安全及環保方面的合約要求及程序，並指導監工職系人員履行這些職務；以及(d)巡視建築工地、政府建築物、設施及斜坡，並擬備維修工程的成本預算。[請參閱註(3)]
職責
An Assistant Clerk of Works is mainly deployed on :
- (a)assisting Clerks of Works in quality control of projects and supervising and training Works Supervisor grade staff;
- (b)supervising contract works, including making and recording site measurements, maintaining site records, and verifying contractors’ claims;
- (c)monitoring contractual requirements and programmes of building and maintenance works and procedures such as site safety, environmental protection, etc. and directing Works Supervisor grade staff in these duties; and
- (d)inspecting building sites, government buildings and facilities and slopes, and preparing cost estimates for repairs. [See Note (3)]
入職條件
申請人必須：(a)取得香港理工大學／理工學院、香港專業教育學院或工業學院／科技學院頒發的建築或建築學文憑或高級證書，或具備同等學歷；以及(b)取得資格後具備三年建築工程相關經驗；以及(c)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科及英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績，或具同等成績。[請參閱註(1)及(2)]
Candidates should have :
- (a)a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; and
- (b)three years’ relevant post-qualification experience in building works; and
- (c)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. [See Note

- (1)2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙)C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
- (2)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。應徵者會被安排參加《基本法》知識筆試。應徵者在基本法知識測試的表現，會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素。
