A Physiotherapist I is mainly deployed on – (a) conducting physiotherapy related assessment, providing support and therapy, and co-ordinating for the rehabilitation of clients; (b) assisting in the planning of physiotherapy related service, including health promotion activities; (c) delivering talks related to physiotherapy, and conducting related health promotion programmes, including taking part in media interviews and producing health educational materials; (d) giving on-the-job training to junior staff and officers in other grades; (e) participating in planning and conducting physiotherapy related research and health education projects; and (f) performing related administrative duties. (Remarks: The above duties mainly involve providing services for the elderly and their carers in a primary care setting and may be required to work irregular hours.)

Candidates should have – (a) registered in Hong Kong as a Physiotherapist in Part Ia of the Register of Physiotherapists under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance (Cap. 359) [Note(2)]; and (b) a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Physiotherapists Board of Hong Kong [Note(2)]; and (c) at least 3 years of relevant post-registration experience [Note(1) and (2)]; and (d) met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” [Note(3)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese.
