Specialist (Education Services) IIs (Speech Therapy) are mainly deployed on the following types of duties –
(a) providing professional assessment and remedial treatment to students with speech and language impairment; and
(b) identifying educational need, providing consultation and prescribing follow-up support programmes to parents, teachers and schools under the supervision of Specialist (Education Services) I.

Candidates should –
(a) have a Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, or equivalent [See Note (5)];
(b) have a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
(c) have four years' relevant post-degree experience [General Note (2)];
(d) have met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Notes (1)-(3)]; and
(e) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.

For candidates holding qualifications obtained from academic institutions outside Hong Kong, please attach to their application copies of diplomas/certificates, transcripts of studies and official documents issued by the relevant academic institutions stating the mode of delivery (e.g. full time/part time, on campus/distance learning, etc.) of the study programmes. To facilitate the assessment of the qualifications, candidates should provide the above documents for all other relevant qualifications obtained as far as possible. For candidates holding local qualifications, please also attach copies of the documents stating the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses.
