Assistant Education Officers (Administration) are mainly deployed on the following types of duties –

• (a)assisting in conducting educational researches, reviews and planning; and
• (b)assisting in the implementation of education policies by –
  • (i)providing support to schools on administration and conducting advisory visits and school inspections;
  • (ii)managing school building and improvement projects;
  • (iii)processing school registration applications;
  • (iv)processing registration, training and development of teachers/educational professionals;
  • (v)allocating school places; and
  • (vi)developing and maintaining educational information systems.

Candidates should have –

• (1)a Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent;
• (2)a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
• (3)met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent

• (a)to (c)] ; and
• (4)three years' relevant post-degree experience.

Candidates should be responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; have a fine character and integrity; be committed to serve in the education field; and be able to communicate effectively in Chinese and English.

For applicants holding qualifications obtained from academic institutions outside Hong Kong, please attach to the applications copies of their diplomas/certificates, transcripts of studies and official documents issued by the relevant academic institutions stating the mode of delivery (e.g. full time/part time, on campus/distance learning, etc.) of the study programmes. To facilitate assessment of qualifications, the above documents on the prior qualifications obtained should also be supplied as far as possible. On-line application number should be quoted on the envelope and the copies of supporting documents. Please do not send any originals of diplomas/certificates. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents before 7 March 2014, their applications will not be considered. Documents of local qualifications are not required at the application stage.
