(a) To assist the Overseer (Markets) in the overall management of market(s); (b) To enforce the legislation governing markets and the terms and conditions stipulated in market tenancy agreements; (c) To monitor the performance of cleansing contractors and security guards and to ensure their compliance with the requirements set out in the respective contracts; (d) To patrol and inspect all parts of the market(s) daily to ensure that the market(s) is/are maintained in an orderly and clean condition and in good repair; (e) To monitor the progress of repair, maintenance and improvement works in the market(s); (f) To distribute demand notes to market stall tenants and ensure prompt settlement of rents; (g) To assist in compiling statistical returns on market management; (h) To handle simple enquiries and complaints on the management of the market(s); and (i) To supervise the work of the Workman II in the market(s). [Note: Have to work irregular hours, and on Sundays and Public Holidays; have to work when typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted or black rainstorm warning is in force; and may be required to wear working outfit to be provided by the department whilst on duty.]

(a) (i) Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 1), or equivalent; or (ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; (b) At least 1 year’s post-qualification full-time working experience in a supervisory position responsible for supervising operational frontline staff (Possession of operational and management experience in markets and superstores and related services would be an advantage.); (c) Good interpersonal skills; and (d) Computer application knowledge for preparation of reports and returns.
