職責
郵務員的主要職責包括：
(a)執行郵局櫃位職務，保管現金及可轉讓庫存品；
(b)分揀各類郵件，並記錄郵件的收發送遞；
(c)負責郵件處理工作，包括包裹及特快專遞郵件；
(d)會計、財務、核數、文書及統計工作；以及
(e)執行郵務督察的工作及／或承擔監督員工等職責。
有需要時，郵務員須輪班及／或超時工作，又或須穿着制服。
Main Duties of Postal Officer Include:
(a)manning post office counters and the safe custody of cash and negotiable stock;
(b)sorting mail of all categories and completing documentation relating to the receipt, movement, delivery and dispatch of mail;
(c)mail processing duties including handling of parcels and Speedpost items;
(d)accounting, financial, auditing, clerical and statistical duties; and
(e)performing postal inspectorate and/or staff supervision duties, etc.
He/she is required to work shifts and/or overtime as necessary; and may be required to wear uniform.
入職條件
申請人必須符合下列資格－
(a)(i)在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等（註1）或以上成績（註2），或具同等學歷；或
(ii)在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級（註3）／E級或以上成績（註2），或具同等學歷；及
(b)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級（註3）或以上成績，或具同等學歷。
Applicants should have –
(a)(i)Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or
(ii)Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; and
(b)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent.
入職條件(註)
(1)政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標並表現優異」成績，以及其他語言科目C級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第3級成績；香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標」成績，以及其他語言科目E級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第2級成績。
(2)有關科目可包括中國語文及英國語文科。
(3)政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
(4)申請人有機會被獲邀參加能力傾向測試。該能力傾向測試是一張選擇題形式試卷，設有合共30題英文及中文題目，考生須於30分鐘內完成試卷。只有通過能力傾向測試的申請人方會獲邀參加遴選面試。
(5)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會佔其整體表現的一個適當比重。申請人如獲邀參加遴選面試，會被安排於遴選面試當日接受基本法知識筆試。
