二級海事督察的主要職責爲：
- (a)處理香港水域本地船隻發牌方面的職能和出入口手續；
- (b)巡邏及調控香港水域內的船舶交通；
- (c)管理避風塘、公眾貨物裝卸區、碼頭、繫泊區、客運碼頭和控制污染；
- (d)駐守海上救援協調中心及於需要時駐守其他分站；以及
- (e)督導屬下人員。
註：
(i)須穿著制服；(ii)或須輪班／不定時當值及在巡邏船上工作。
職責
A Marine Inspector II is mainly deployed on:
- (a)licensing functions associated with local vessels in the Hong Kong waters and processing port formalities;
- (b)patrol and regulation of vessels in the Hong Kong waters;
- (c)management of typhoon shelters, public cargo working areas, piers, mooring areas, ferry terminals and control of pollution;
- (d)manning of the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre and other outstations when required; and
- (e)supervision of subordinate staff.
Note:
(i) Required to wear uniform; (ii) May be required to work shifts/irregular hours and on board patrol launches.
入職條件
申請人必須：
- (a)
- (i)在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等[請參閱註一]或以上成績[請參閱註二]，或具同等學歷；或
- (ii)在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級[請參閱註三]／E級或以上成績[請參閱註二]，或具同等學歷；
- (b)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級[請參閱註三]或以上成績，或具同等成績；以及
- (c)視力方面[請參閱註四]，能分辨白、紅、綠三種顏色和燈光，以執行海港巡邏、污染控制和船舶交通調控等職務。
Candidates should have:
- (a)
- (i)Level 2 or equivalent [See Note (1)] or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) [See Note (2)], or equivalent; or
- (ii)Level 2 [See Note (3)] / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [See Note (2)], or equivalent;
- (b)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note (3)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and
- (c)eyesight [See Note (4)] to be able to distinguish between white, red and green colours and lights for performing duties relating to harbour patrol, pollution control and vessel traffic regulation, etc.
入職條件(註)
- (1)政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標」成績，以及其他語言科目E級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第2級成績。
- (2)有關科目可包括中國語文及英國語文科。
- (3)政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙)E級成績，在行政上會被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第2級成績。
- (4)申請人必須於入職前體格檢驗中通過視力評估及辨色測試。
- (5)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會佔其整體表現的一個適當比重。
