規劃師主要(a)爲房屋委員會轄下公共房屋發展項目物色和確定合適土地，研究地盤的發展潛力以及制定發展參數；(b)檢討和更新公共房屋建屋計劃和重建計劃；(c)監察及檢討與公共房屋有關的規劃標準、進行與規劃有關的研究和檢討工作；以及(d)在所有與公共房屋發展有關的地區規劃事宜上提供意見。
職責
A Planning Officer is mainly deployed on
- (a)searching and identifying suitable sites, conducting site potential studies and preparing development parameters for public housing development under Housing Authority’s purview;
- (b)reviewing and updating programmes for public housing production and redevelopment;
- (c)monitoring and reviewing planning standards related to public housing and conducting planning-related researches and reviews; and
- (d)providing input to all district planning matters relating to public housing development.

申請人必須
- (a)
- (i)爲香港規劃師學會的正式會員；或
- (ii)爲其他已獲房屋署署長認可的專業城市規劃學會的正式會員，幷在香港規劃師學會資格檢定考試第II部取得及格成績；(b)至少具備一年取得正式會員資格後從事規劃界別的合適工作經驗，或具備同等經驗；(c)在綜合招聘考試的能力傾向測試取得及格成績[請參閱註(3)]；以及(d)符合語文能力要求，即在綜合招聘考試兩張語文試卷(中文運用及英文運用)中取得「二級」成績，或具備同等成績[請參閱註(4)]。
Candidates should have
- (a)
- (i)Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP); or
- (ii)Corporate Membership of other professional town planning institutes recognized by the Director of Housing, and a pass in Part II of the HKIP Qualifying Examination;
- (b)at least 1 year’s appropriate post-corporate membership experience in the planning field;
- (c)a pass result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) (see Note (3)); and
- (d)met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent (see Note (4)).

- (3)除了綜合招聘考試，申請人或須要參加由部門舉辦的規劃師招聘筆試。申請人必須在有關筆試取得及格成績才會有機會參加面試。
- (4)綜合招聘考試的中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績分爲二級、一級或不及格，幷以二級爲最高等級。 政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第5級或以上成績;或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科C級或以上的成績，會獲接納爲等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第4級成績;或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科D級的成績，會獲接納爲等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的一級成績。 香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第5級或以上成績;或香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上成績;或General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) English Language科C級或以上成績，會獲接納爲等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第4級成績;或香港高級程度會考英語運用科D級成績;或GCE A Level English Language科D級成績，會獲接納爲等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的一級成績。 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，幷在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低于6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會獲接納爲等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位申請期內其中任何一日有效。
- (5)爲提高大衆對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會占其整體表現的一個適當比重。
