職責
(a) 處理公眾對環境保護，尤其水質素事項的投訴及查詢；並跟進處理例如與其他政府部門聯絡，發出勸諭信及回覆投訴人／查詢人；
(b) 履行處理污染投訴和執行環保法例的職務，例如根據不同法規要求進行監查；
(c) 進行實地視察及／或提供辦公室技術支援，包括進行污染源調查，環境採樣和分析，調查／監察並為專業人員分析及提交調查結果；
(d) 在日常運作中監督初級職員；以及
(e) 執行其他上級人員所分配的技術／行政職務。
其他相關的工作要求：工作時間和地點須視乎部門的運作需要而定。獲取錄者或需要不定時及超時工作，包括在晚上、周末及周日工作。

(a) To handle public pollution complaints and enquiries related to environmental protection matters, in particular matters related to water quality; and to take follow up actions such as liaising with other departments, issuing advisory letters and replies to complainants/enquirers;
(b) To perform duties associated with pollution complaint handling and the enforcement of environmental protection legislation, e.g. conducting compliance inspections under various legislative requirements;
(c) To provide field monitoring and/or office based technical support, including undertaking pollution source surveys, environmental sampling and analysis, investigations/inspections and interpreting and presenting results for professional staff;
(d) To supervise junior staff for daily operations; and
(e) To perform other technical/administrative duties as and when required by the supervisors.
Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the Department. The successful candidate may be required to work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends.

(c) 符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科及英國語文科考獲第2級（註）或以上成績，或具同等成績（註：2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科（課程乙）E級成績，在行政上會被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第2級的成績）；以及
(e) 具有電腦工作的知識及經驗，尤其具數據庫設立和管理經驗者可獲優先考慮。

Applicants should have: –
(a) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Chemical Technology, Computer Science, Water Pollution Control, Waste Management, Environmental Studies, Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / Civil Engineering, or a relevant science or engineering subject from a Hong Kong university/ Hong Kong polytechnic, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/ technical college / technical institute, or equivalent;
(b) at least one-year full-time relevant post-qualification working experience in the field of environmental / statistical work;
(c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); and
(d) knowledge and experience in computer work, in particular database setup and management would be an advantage.
