(a) To plan and supervise on-site inspections and monitoring of recyclables collection and recycling services;
(b) To handle, investigate and respond to public enquiries or complaints;
(c) To supervise data input, check completeness and accuracy of submissions etc. for contract management;
(d) To assist in trade support schemes as well as promotion of waste reduction and recycling programmes and initiatives;
(e) To enforce environmental regulations; and
(f) To perform any other duties as assigned.

Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. Successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends, Sundays and public holidays; (b) work outdoors ; and (c) work in remote locations.

Candidates should –
(a) have met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note);
(b) have a Diploma or Higher Certificate from a Hong Kong university, Hong Kong polytechnic, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Hong Kong technical college or Hong Kong technical institute, or equivalent, in a subject relevant to science or engineering, or equivalent;
(c) have at least 12 years’ full-time post-qualification working experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in law enforcement work;
(d) be familiar with computer operations and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and preferably have knowledge and experience in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Access and/ or Geographic Information System;
(e) have good command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
(f) have good communication skills, independent, self-motivated and willing to learn; and
(g) preferably have experience in contract and/or data management.
