機電工程師負責以下其中一個範疇的工作：(a)香港認可處－為推行認可計劃提供技術及行政協助，特別是需要電力、電子或機械測量或工程專業知識的範圍；統籌和執行實驗所、認證機構或檢驗機構的實地評審工作。(b)標準及校正實驗所－在標準及校正實驗所轄下的一所或多所實驗所，負責制定和維持測量標準，以及提供和改善校正服務，特別是機械計量方面；向產業宣傳和推廣計量知識和校正技術；與國際計量機構聯絡，並參加國際計量活動；督導和訓練技術人員進行標準和校正工作。(c)科學顧問組－為創新及科技基金項目評審委員會／評審小組提供秘書支援；為創新及科技基金的申請項目評核工作提供技術意見，並監察獲基金資助項目的推行情況；為與技術相關的事宜提供技術支援，進行與技術相關的項目／計劃，並配合產業的技術發展。

Electrical and Mechanical Engineer
總薪級表第32點(每月49,355元)至總薪級表第44點(每月80,080元)
職責
An Electrical and Mechanical Engineer is deployed to work in one of the following areas :
- (a)Hong Kong Accreditation Service - Provide technical and administrative assistance in the implementation of accreditation programmes particularly in areas where electrical, electronic or mechanical measurement or engineering expertise are required; co-ordinate or perform on-site assessments of laboratories, certification bodies or inspection bodies.
- (b)Standards and Calibration Laboratory (SCL) - Take charge of one or more laboratories of SCL in the development and maintenance of measurement standards as well as the provision and improvement of calibration services, particularly in mechanical metrology fields; promote and disseminate metrology knowledge and calibration techniques to industry; liaise with international metrology organisations and participate in international metrology activities; supervise and train technical staff on standards and calibration work.
- (c)Science Advisor’s Team - Provide secretarial support to the project vetting committees/assessment panels under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF); assess and provide technical advice on applications for and monitor implementation of projects funded under the ITF; provide technical support on technology-related matters and undertake technology-related projects/programmes and keep abreast of technological development in industry.

申請人須(a)為香港工程師學會(電機／電子／機械／製造及工業界別)於一九七五年十二月後選取的正式會員，或具備同等資格註1及2；以及(b)在綜合招聘考試兩張語文試卷(中文運用及英文運用)中取得「一級」成績，或具備同等成績註3及4。
Candidates should
- (a)be Corporate Members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Manufacturing and Industrial Discipline) elected after December 1975 or equivalent Notes 1 and 2; and
- (b)have ‘Level 1’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) or equivalent. Notes 3 and 4

註1 申請人如已在二零一二年六月二十九日或之前申請參加認可專業機構的專業評核，並取得香港工程師學會(電機／電子／機械／製造及工業界別)的正式會員資格或同等資格，亦可提出申請。 註2 上述申請人須隨申請表格夾附專業評核的申請證明文件，否則有關申請將不獲考慮。申請人如獲取錄，其專業評核的成績必須符合職位入職條件的要求，方會獲得聘用。 註3 曾應考綜合招聘考試多於一次的申請人，應填報最佳的考試成績。 註4 能力傾向測試的成績分為「及格」或「不及格」，而中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績則分為「二級」、「一級」或「不及格」，並以「二級」為最高等級。香港高級程度會考英語運用科「C」級或以上和「D」級成績(或同等成績)，分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科「C」級或以上和「D」級的成績，則分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。在International English Language Testing System (IELTS)學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的申請人，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，其IELTS成績會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位接受申請的首天(即二零一二年六月二十九日)仍然有效。為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。申請人在基本法測試(學位／專業程度職系)的表現，會用作評核其整體表現的其中一個考慮因素，但不會影響其申請公務員職位的資格。原則上，申請人的學歷、經驗和才能仍然是考慮其是否適合被聘用的主要因素。
