Carrying out engineering surveying tasks including field surveying, computing and plotting, producing enhanced engineering survey products using advanced electronic instruments and extensive computer applications and assisting in the training of junior staff. Successful candidates appointed may be posted to other government departments, and may be required to work in construction sites, slopes, works at height, heavy traffic, hilly and remote areas, onboard survey vessels and under inclement weather and rough sea conditions, to carry heavy survey equipment in rugged terrain and to work shifts or irregular hours and perform emergency survey duties.

Candidates should have (a) a Higher Diploma in Geomatics or a Diploma/Higher Certificate in Land Surveying and Cartography from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent Note (1).
