A Workman II is mainly deployed on (a) delivery of training and operational stores/equipment to various locations in connection with departmental and volunteer activities; (b) assisting duties in receipt and issue of stores; (c) messengerial duties, including delivery of documents to and from Government offices in urban areas and New Territories; and (d) cleansing/moving of office furniture and equipment under supervision.
On appointment, a successful candidate is subject to posting and transfer. He/She is required to become a member on the volunteer side of the Auxiliary Medical Service. He/She is required to work shifts, irregular hours (including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) and to perform duties during typhoons and other emergencies.
Candidates should have (a) completed Primary 6 education or equivalent; (b) 1 year's experience in messengerial and cleansing duties; and (c) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard.
(Note : Candidates will be required to pass a trade test.)
