A Technical Instructor (Precast Concrete) is mainly deployed on (a) supervising subordinates in performing their duties; (b) training, instructing and supervising persons in custody in correctional institutions engaged in production of all kinds of precast concrete and related items; (c) overseeing work processes including but not limited to the mixing, forming, organizing, testing and packaging of precast concrete; material estimation, production planning and scheduling, quality assurance, machines and equipment operation and general maintenance; (d) preparing vocational training materials and teaching related classes; (e) enforcing the Code of Practice of Occupational Safety and Health and related regulations; and (f) performing any other duties as assigned.
(Note: Subject to the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance, the appointee may be required to wear uniform, work shifts and live in departmental quarters.)

(a) have completed an apprenticeship or institutional training in Precast Concrete industries; and be able to furnish evidence that they have had relevant working experience in precast concrete industries [Note 1 under Entry Requirements]. Total period of training and working experience should not be less than 10 years; (b) have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Secondary 3 standard; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English; and (c) undergo and pass a trade test in precast concrete [Note 2 under Entry Requirements].
