• (a)To oversee laboratory operation and the quality management system of the Microbiology Division under the Public Health Laboratory Services Branch. <br>
• (b)To monitor the trends of various infections through surveillance and epidemiological study of laboratory data for timely control measures. <br>
• (c)To liaise with external healthcare workers on the prevention and control of infection. <br>
• (d)To perform training, staff management as well as administrative duties. <br> <br>(Remarks: Selected candidates may be required to work shifts outside normal working hours and perform on-call duties.)

Candidates should - <br>

• (a)have a medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance, Cap. 161; and <br>
• (b)have one of the following relevant higher qualifications in the relevant specialties of Pathology, Clinical Microbiology and Infection and a minimum of five years of post-registration experience in the relevant specialties : <br>- Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Pathology); or <br>- Specialist registered under the relevant specialty in the Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Hong Kong; or <br>- Specialist or equivalent status conferred by a competent authority outside Hong Kong; and <br>
• (c)meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 1 or above results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent (See Notes (1)); and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.
