- (1)助理機械督察主要負責在各類政府公用設施及工場中檢查、操作、保養及維修機械裝置及設備（包括汽車）；提供設計、採購、工程管理及技術顧問服務；執行法例及提供規管和諮詢服務；以及監督初級員工的工作。
- (2)獲取錄的申請人，可能會獲調派至其他部門工作，以及可能須要：(a)不定時／在偏遠地區／在惡劣環境下工作；(b)執行輪班／上班候命／隨時候召／緊急工作；(c)穿著制服／保護衣物；及(d)執行其他不時指定的職務。獲取錄的申請人亦可能要以自願性質執行自行駕車到工作地點的職務（如有需要，部門會提供有關訓練）。
職責
- (1)Assistant Mechanical Inspectors are mainly deployed on inspection, operation and maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment including motor vehicles in a wide range of Government utilities and workshops; design, procurement, project management and technical consultancy services; law enforcement, regulatory services and advisory services; and supervision of junior staff.
- (2)Successful candidates may be posted to other departments and may be required:
- (a)to work irregular hours/in remote area/in harsh condition;
- (b)to perform shift duty/stand-by duty/on-call duty/emergency duty;
- (c)to wear uniform/protective clothing; and
- (d)to perform any other duties as specified from time to time. Successful candidates may also be required to perform self-drive duty (training will be provided where necessary) on a voluntary basis.
入職條件
申請人必須(a)具備香港理工大學／理工學院或香港專業教育學院／工業學院／科技學院所頒發的機械或汽車工程文憑或高級證書，或同等學歷；及
- (b)
- (i)曾經接受兩年有關實務訓練，並於取得上述資格後具有不少於三年相關工作經驗；或(ii)完成認可的學徒訓練，並於取得上述資格後具有最少三年相關工作經驗；及(c)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績，或具同等成績[附註(1)]；以及
- (d)在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績[附註(2)]。申請人如(i)具備操作和保養蒸汽鍋爐及壓力容器、液壓及氣動裝置、沖廁水／污水泵系統、柴油發動機及流動機械裝置設備、起重器械和吊重設備，以及一般機械及車輛工程系統的相關經驗和法定資格(如適用)；以及(ii)已接受認可的安全健康督導員訓練，可獲優先考慮[附註(3)]。
Candidates should have
- (a)a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; and
- (b)
- (i)two years’ relevant practical training and not less than three years’ relevant post-qualification experience; or
- (ii)completed an approved apprenticeship plus at least three years’ relevant post-qualification experience; and
- (c)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent

- (d)attained a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test
Note (2)] . Preference may be given to candidates who
- (i)have relevant experience and statutory qualification (if appropriate) in operation and maintenance of steam boilers and pressure vessels, hydraulic/pneumatic plant, flushing/sewage water pumping system, diesel engine and mobile plant equipment, lift appliances/lifting gears and general mechanical and vehicle engineering systems; and
- (ii)have acquired a recognized safety and health supervisor training

入職條件(註)
- (1)政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年及其後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
- (2)政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。
