An Operations and Training Assistant is mainly deployed on -

• (a)supervising minor staff;
• (b)instructing volunteers in the use of tools and equipment;
• (c)leading and instructing youth activities;
• (d)making preparation for training session under IT / network environment;
• (e)setting up and facilitating presentation with computer and IT applications;
• (f)maintaining operational and camping equipment;
• (g)general quartermastering duties;
• (h)assisting in emergency operational duties and/or community services; and
  • (i)assisting in the management of isolation / quarantine centres.

On appointment, a successful candidate is required to become a member in the auxiliary Civil Aid Service. He/she may be required to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and general holidays, and is required to wear uniform.

Candidates should have

• (a)attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Form 3 standard, and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English;
• (b)aptitude for giving practical instruction and ability to demonstrate the proper use of operational tools and equipment, including audio visual aids;
• (c)general knowledge in use of tele-communication equipment;
• (d)general knowledge and experience in IT and computer network applications; and
• (e)at least two years’ experience in the supervision of minor staff, youth work, or in civil defence/emergency organisations.
