- (a)負責訓練、指導與監管懲教院所內的在囚人士或所員從事木工生產作業，產品包括實木傢俱、嵌板傢俱、組合式辦公室傢俱及各式木製用具等；(b)物料用量估算、生產計劃及排程、品質及施工控制、生產機器操作及一般保養；(c)執行職安健守則和相關規例；以及(d)執行其他指派職務。
註: 須受《監獄條例》約束、穿著制服，或須輪班當值及在部門宿舍居住。

Instructor (Carpentry)
一般紀律人員(員佐級)薪級表第3點(每月16,760元)至一般紀律人員(員佐級)薪級表第20點(每月28,295元)。
職責
- (a)training, instructing and supervising prisoners or inmates in correctional institutions engaging in work activities of carpentry trade for producing hardwood furniture, panel and office furniture and other wooden items;
- (b)performing duties including material estimation, production planning and scheduling, quality and work process control, machine operation and their general maintenance;
- (c)enforcing the Code of Practice of Occupational Safety & Health and related regulations; and
- (d)performing any other duties as assigned.
Note: Subject to the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance and may be required to wear uniform, work shifts and live in departmental quarters.
入職條件
- (a)完成有關木工、傢俱製作或室內裝潢行業的學徒訓練或院校訓練課程；或能出示證明，顯示在木工、傢俱製作或室內裝潢方面具備至少五年工作經驗[參閱入職條件註(1)]；(b)中、英文語文能力相當於中三程度；及能操流利粵語及簡單英語；及(c)須接受及通過能力傾向測驗和木工的技能測試[參閱入職條件註(2)]。
- (a)have completed an apprenticeship or institutional training in carpentry work, furniture making or interior refurbishment industry; or be able to furnish evidence that they have had at least 5 years’ experience in carpentry, furniture making or interior refurbishment

- (b)have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Form 3 standard; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English; and
- (c)undergo and pass aptitude test and trade test in carpentry

入職條件(註)
- (1)申請人須在申請表格內清楚列明其相關的工作經驗。
- (2)如果符合訂明入職條件的申請人人數眾多，招聘部門可以訂立篩選準則，甄選條件較佳的申請人，以便進一步處理。在此情況下，只有獲篩選的申請人會獲邀參加首項遴選程序(即能力傾向測驗/木工的技能測試)，而只有通過能力傾向測驗、木工的技能測試、及其後的面試的申請人才會獲考慮聘任。
- (3)為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，所有公務員職位的招聘，均會包括《基本法》知識的評核。獲邀參加遴選面試的申請人，其對基本法的認識會在面試中以口頭提問形式被評核。除非兩位申請人的整體表現相若，招聘當局才會參考申請人在基本法知識測試中的表現。
